Superload Coordination
Above a certain weight and dimension threshold — defined differently by each state — a load stops being a routine oversize permit and becomes a superload requiring engineering review before it can move at all.
For the largest loads, we coordinate the route survey, bridge weight-bearing analysis, and pilot car or police escort requirements as a single process, so nothing about the move is discovered for the first time on the day it happens.

What a route survey and bridge analysis actually involve
For the heaviest loads, states typically require an engineering review of every bridge and structure along the route to confirm it can bear the load's actual axle weights — this is a fundamentally different process than a standard permit application, often involving state DOT engineers directly rather than an automated permit system.
Why superloads run on a longer, harder timeline
Route survey and bridge analysis on the largest loads can realistically take two to six weeks per state depending on how many structures need review, and some states pass part of the engineering analysis cost on to the applicant. Between that review, escort coordination across multiple jurisdictions, and the higher scrutiny these moves get, a superload needs to be planned well in advance — treating it like a standard oversize permit almost always results in a delayed move.
