Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have questions or concerns, please contact us at operations@atlanticunity.com.

1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

In short: we collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:

  • Names
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Mailing addresses
  • Contact preferences

Sensitive information. We do not process sensitive information.

All personal information you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such information.

Information automatically collected

In short: some information — such as your IP address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Services.

This information does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, and information about how and when you use our Services. This is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services and for our internal analytics and reporting. Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies. The information we collect includes:

  • Log and usage data — service-related, diagnostic, and performance information our servers automatically collect when you access or use our Services, including your IP address, device information, browser type and settings, and activity in the Services.
  • Device data — information about the computer, phone, or tablet you use to access the Services, such as IP address, hardware model, operating system, and system configuration.
  • Location data— information about your device’s location, which can be precise or imprecise. You can opt out by disabling your device’s location setting, though certain features of the Services may not work as a result.

Google API

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

2. How do we process your information?

In short: we process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.

We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, including:

  • To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts. We may process your information so you can create and log in to your account and keep it in working order.
  • To deliver and facilitate delivery of services to the user. We may process your information to provide you with the requested service, such as preparing an oversize/overweight permit order.
  • To respond to user inquiries and offer support. We may process your information to respond to your inquiries and resolve any issues with the requested service.

3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your information?

In short: we only process your personal information when we have a valid legal reason to do so — such as your consent, to comply with laws, to provide contracted services, to protect your rights, or to fulfil our legitimate business interests.

If you are located in Canada, this section applies to you. We may process your information if you have given specific permission (express consent) to use it for a specific purpose, or where your permission can be inferred (implied consent). You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us — see How can you contact us about this notice?. In limited cases, applicable law may permit us to process your information without consent — for example, for fraud detection and prevention, business transactions, insurance claim investigations, or where disclosure is required to comply with a subpoena, warrant, or court order.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

In short: we may share information in the situations described below.

  • Business transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
  • When we use Google Maps Platform APIs. We may share your information with Google Maps Platform APIs (e.g., the Directions and Places APIs) to plan routes and estimate permit costs for your load. Google Maps uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell towers to estimate location; this data helps provide directions and is not always perfectly precise.

5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

In short: we may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you securely signed in to your account, maintain the security of the Services, and remember your session while you use the customer and admin portals. These are the only cookies our Services currently set — we do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking scripts on this website today. If that changes, we will update this section, and any analytics or advertising cookies deployed in the future would be described here along with your opt-out choices under Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?.

6. How long do we keep your information?

In short: we keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice requires us to keep your personal information for longer than the period of time in which you have an account with us. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize it, or, if that is not possible, securely store it and isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.

7. How do we keep your information safe?

In short: we aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

8. Do we collect information from minors?

In short: we do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to that minor’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from a user under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us at operations@atlanticunity.com.

9. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on your state of residence in the US or region (such as Canada), you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.

In some regions (like Canada) you have the right to (i) request access to and a copy of your personal information, (ii) request rectification or erasure, (iii) restrict processing of your personal information, (iv) data portability where applicable, and (v) not be subject to solely automated decision-making. You can make such a request, or withdraw consent at any time, by contacting us — see How can you contact us about this notice?. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

Account information

If you would like to review or change the information in your account, or terminate your account, contact us using the details provided in this notice. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases, though we may retain some information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, or comply with legal requirements.

10. Controls for Do-Not-Track features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. No uniform technology standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, so we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow, we will inform you in a revised version of this notice.

11. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

In short: if you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, you may have the right to request access to and details about the personal information we maintain about you, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information, and withdraw consent to our processing of it. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
